VISITORS' COMMENTS

I was seven years old when the ship sank. I well remember when the New Bay delivered the Extra Edition Newspaper announcing the tragedy.  This was a very good exhibit.

It was sad and exciting too. At first I couldn't stand the suspense of not knowing if Madame Berthe de Villiers lived or not. Luckily, she lived.  -C.T.  St. Louis, MO Age 11

I've now seen this three times (twice in Seattle) and I think it gets better each time.  Thank you for this opportunity. Visitor Salt Lake

The Titanic has always attracted my family for reasons we could not describe.  When we learned that Irene Corbett [second-class passenger] was my wife's 5th cousin, this answered that question.  This felt like walking through a fairy tale come true to life.  B. D. Ava, MO

This is an amazing exhibit.  I knew part of the stuff about the Titanic, but I never knew all of it.  There are all these fiction/fact movies and stories about the Titanic, but you never get the full story, like you do here.  JC Richland, WA Age 14

May God be with all the people who died.  Let them be in peace.  I enjoyed it a lot.  Thank you. -

How blessed we are that there are those dedicated to bringing memories of Titanic back to us...through the ages...through the dark...to keep those precious people alive..for it is only in the memories of those alive do we cherish the memories of those gone before us. -L.W. Oklahoma City, OK

Very sobering.  As a relative of one of the deceased, the opportunity to "walk a while" in his shoes left a touching reminder that our histories span more than our generation. Salt Lake City

I liked the movies.  Olivia Age 5

Dear Titanic, Inc, I have an idea that you might be interested in.  I'm testing my idea in a science fair project.  My idea is to get a balloon and put it in Titanic and then fill it with air pressure then see if it can rise out of the water.  If it raises you can call several tow boats and pull it to New York harbor and if you go with it write me back. -S.S.Cottageville, SC

"A beautiful exhibit, and I have learned much here.  Thank you for keeping the memories alive!"
-James Cameron, Director of the Oscar-winning movie "Titanic".

How can you begin to express all the thoughts and emotions you go through while seeing the beauty and destruction that has been woven together.  I hope no one will ever forget all the lives that were lost. -N.S., Pacific Science Center, Father's Day 2001

I saw a TV special that advocated leaving the Titanic alone and not salvaging its debris.  Now that I have seen this exhibit, I disagree with that premise. L.B. Los Angeles

An awesome thing--I've heard about the Titanic for years (I'm 76) and it is so sobering to see these things--A great thing to display all this.  B. H. Thremonton UT

My father was born in Belfast, Ireland on May 31, 1911--My grandfather was at Harland & Wolff watching the Titanic being launched.  Dad died March 4, 200.  J.G.M. Dallas, TX

It was a poignant reminder of the fragility of human life.  We trust too much in the genius of mankind.  I learned to beware of conceit and trust in humility. -Visitor Kansas City, MO

My grandfather had a steerage ticket out of Ireland, but missed the boat! -D.G. Los Angeles, CA

It will never stop amazing me. Each story and artifact left me in awe. The mood on the deck sent chills up my spine. Extremely moving. -C.N. Houston, TX

Thank you for doing this for us to enjoy.  It was great and made me remember  things my grandfather must have gone through on his voyage to America. C.B. Salt Lake

It's still an amazing sight! Glad to have been able to see parts of that unthinkable night. Touching the ice gave you the true idea of what they faced in many of hours which would be their last! -E.& D.K. Seattle, WA

I'm very impressed with the details--the change in temperature out on the deck, the stars, the sounds--excellent, worth every penny. -C.H. San Francisco, CA

Powerful and awe inspiring, this exhibit allows the visitor to see, hear, and feel a small portion of what life and death must have been for the passengers and crew of the Titanic.  The people who brought us this exhibit have given all of us a glimpse of the past we will never forget.  thank you for htis awesome display. -K.H. Tulsa, OK

This was amazing.  Offering a very educational and realistic visual representation of what the passengers experienced.  I felt a connection to those people. -L.U. London

Thank you for preserving these fragments of the ship.  It was especially touching to experience your exhibit of a story I have followed all my life.  -M.M. Oklahoma City, OK

It was very interesting but it would have been better if there had been a room where there were men rushing around telling people to put life vests on. -N.W. Detroit, MI

Schools should take time out and make a field day of this.  Thanks for the ride. D.G. Wenlock, WA

This was my second time and I still am in awe and have a feeling of sadness for all of those families broken up and all of the sorrow.  This is amazing.  thank you for making it available.  Salt Lake City, Utah
